Prerequisites
The following is required before starting the Program.
- Complete the Bookkeeping Development Program.
- Complete or substitute the Accounting Principles course.
- Take and pass the Accounting Certification exam.
To substitute a course, you must have completed and passed an equivalent higher education course. To substitute a course, email your course transcript to info@consortia.accountants.
The Accounting Principles course and Accounting Certification exam may be taken during the Bookkeeping Development Program payroll experience segment.

Certified Accounting Paraprofessional (CAP) License Objective
Place CAP behind your name and communicate your accounting knowledge, skill, experience, and ethics to employers or clients.
CAP License
Become a licensed Certified Accounting Paraprofessional or CAP.
This program completes the CAP license education, certification (examination), and experience requirements.
Support
You are assigned support personnel to assist you with any course, certification, training, experience, or licensing questions.
Notes
If you complete the Accounting Principles course and take and pass the Accounting Certification exam during the Bookkeeping Experience segment, you can go directly from the Bookkeeping Experience segment to the Accounting Experience segment without interruption.
